Campus Safety Office

Our office is located in the Physical Plant office space in the Garage.  Please enter through the east door. Campus Safety oversees university vehicles, lost & found, locker registration, and Dispatch monitors all video surveillance systems and dispatches security personal and emergency physical plant concerns. 

Security Dispatcher  (x5999)

The security dispatcher is available 24 hours a day/365 days a year.  Dispatchers work all shifts, weekends, holidays, administrative closure days, and inclement weather days. The dispatcher’s primary duty is answering and transmitting all calls involving campus security, physical plant, and local police/fire departments using various communication methods.  Other duties include monitoring our camera and fire systems and serving as the after-hours switchboard operator.   All calls for non-emergency assistance (unlocks, escorts, etc.) are to be directed to the Public Safety line x5999.  All emergency calls are to be directed to '911' from any  phone.

 


Campus Telephones

There are several telephones located in the common areas of campus buildings for your convenience.  They can be used for all on campus phone calls and can be used to make outside calls with a PIN numbers.

All campus phones are now equiped with the new E-911 system.

 

**Please Note**

All '911' calls are not answered on campus, they are now routed through West Suburban Consolidated Dispatch Center (WSCDC) located at the River Forest Village Hall.

Lost and Found 

The Department has a depository for lost and found items. Should you discover an item of personal property belonging to another, or wish to retrieve an item, please contact the Campus Safety at 708-524-5999 or x5999 (from on campus) during normal business hours.

I.D. Cards

All students, faculty & staff are required to get a Dominican University identification card which may be obtained from the Support Center, lower level Lewis Hall. The card must be presented at the reception desk within the residence halls, at the college dining center, and at the library when borrowing books. You are required to surrender your I.D. card when requested. I.D. cards are not transferable.

HOW TO GET A LOCKER ON CAMPUS
  • get a locker registration card, which is available at the Campus Safety Office 
  • buy a lock
  • pick a locker
  • fill out a registration card
  • put the lock on the locker
  • turn in the filled out registration card to the Campus Safety Office
 
Locker Locations
 
Tan lockers are available in the lower level of the Crown Library.
Light blue lockers are available outside the fitness center.
Lockers are first come first serve!
