Academic Scholarships
Merit scholarships for academic achievement and leadership qualities are awarded annually to qualified incoming students in the Rosary College of Arts and Sciences, and are renewable for a maximum of three years. These scholarships are awarded regardless of financial need and are determined at the time the student is accepted. For students accepted to Dominican University after June 1, awards are subject to availability of funds.
Brechtel Scholarship
For Students Majoring in Chemistry or Biology-Chemistry:
Students who are planning to major in chemistry or in biology-chemistry and have qualified for one of the following merit scholarships: Presidential; Dean's, University’s Honor; Transfer Merit Scholarship; or Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship, are invited to apply for a Brechtel Scholarship. Scholarships average $7,500 a year for up to four years. To apply, simply submit a 200-300 word essay explaining your decision to major in chemistry or biology-chemistry, and how it applies to your future career plans. The application deadline is February 15, 2013.
Alice Welsh Skilling Scholarship
A competitive award for first year students or transfer students majoring in the Visual Arts. The scholarship amount is $7,500 a year for up to four years for first year and transfer students. The application deadline is February 15, 2013.
Catholic High School Scholarship (new for fall 2013 entering freshmen)
Graduates of Catholic high schools receive $2,500 renewable scholarship.
Success Scholarship
Members of a college enrichment program receive $2,500 renewable scholarship.
Legacy Scholarship
Renewable awards of $2,000 are available to children and grandchildren of Dominican University graduates. Awards are for full-time undergraduate students pursuing their first bachelor's degree.
Family Allowances
Family allowances of $1,000 per student are available when two or more members of an immediate family, living at the same address, attend Dominican University full time.
