Health Insurance for Students: Important Changes

Dominican University strongly recommends students have health insurance and reminds you that health insurance is a federal requirement with tax penalties for those who are not covered. Dominican does not offer a sponsored insurance plan for domestic students. The Wellness Center does help students find quality and affordable insurance.

For International F1, J1 visa students: International students with an F1 or J1 visa are enrolled in the international plan unless they document that they are covered by a USA based equivalent plan. Please go to www.dominicaninsurance.com for more information. This health plan costs approximately $75 per month. It is billed to your student account on a semester basis. Please contact the Wellness Center at 708-524-6229 to make sure you are listed.

For full-time DACA or undocumented students: The health insurance provided to international students is also available to you and costs approximately $75 per month. It is billed to your student account on a semester basis. Please contact the Wellness Center at 708-524-6229 to make sure you are listed.

Dominican will continue to provide limited accident insurance for all students.
