DominicanUniversity awards a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies (BLS) to adults who complete the accelerated on-line degree program through the School of Professional & Continuing Studies (SPCS). We launched this exciting & new fully recognized degree which you could earn from a regionally accredited institution in February, 2012. Founded in 1901, Dominican University offers more than 50 undergraduate academic programs and nine graduate programs offered through four graduate schools. The university is accredited by the North Central Association and serves over 3,000 students a year. An equally compelling and rewarding master's degree in Conflict Resolution awaits you upon graduation with your BLS. The Master of Arts in Conflict Resolution (MCR) begins with a 5 day residency course. A second residency course half way through the program compliments online classes throughout the two years of coursework. The hybrid program gives you the best of both worlds...in person connections & role playing in mediation and negotiation with the convenience of online learning through the rest of the course of study!
How long will it take to complete the undergraduate degree program?
There is no pre-set time limit for completion of your accelerated degree, but it is expected that you will show steady progress either by taking courses, passing proficiency examinations, or working on a Prior Learning Portfolio. Check with your advisor about how to get credit for your life experiences. The time needed to complete the degree will depend on the number of credit hours that you bring to the program and the number of hours you earn each session while in the program. In many respects, you set the pace.
