The mission of the Academic Enrichment Center (AEC) is to enhance the quality of learning for all Dominican students (both undergraduate and graduate) at all stages of their academic careers.  Current units include Literacy and Learning Resources, Career Development, and International Student Advising. The AEC partners with Disability Support Services and includes a professionally staffed office for students with special academic needs.  The Academic Enrichment Center also supports and houses Undergraduate Study Abroad (in partnership with Rosary College), and provides some administrative support for Undergraduate Research, Scholarship, and Creative Investigations. 

Literacy and Learning Resources includes a Writing Lab, a Math Clinic, Disability Support Services for special academic needs (in partnership with the Office of the Dean of Students), and tutoring in a range of subjects, currently including English, accounting, economics, chemistry, physics, biology, psychology, languages, and computer science.  Professional and peer tutors serve both undergraduate and graduate students.  Appointments are strongly recommended, especially for the Writing Lab, Math Clinic, and Disability Support Services.  Every effort will be made to accommodate walk-in students, but planning ahead will allow for more effective, personal support.

Literacy and Learning Resources is located in the lower level of Parmer Hall within the Academic Enrichment Center, Parmer 010.

Beginning the freshman year and extending beyond graduation, Career Development actively assists students of all majors with career-related issues, educating them about the career planning process, internships, job search strategies and the facilitating of the graduate/professional school application process as they transition from college to career. The center provides in-house publications
on resume writing, cover letters and job-search strategies, as well as workshops on these career-related topics.  Students and alumnae/i can access employment opportunities, including full-time, part-time and internship opportunities, through many resources. To meet the needs of all students and alumnae/i, career advising is available in person, by telephone and through email.
