WHAT IS COMMON GROUND??

Common Ground is Dominican University's Gay/Straight Alliance.  Our mission is to educate the Dominican Community on the history of the gay and lesbian community, and educate the campus on social and ethical issues that affect gay and lesbian students, faculty or staff and the LGBT community as a whole.  You may be asking, How do you do that?  Well CG does this by brining speakers to campus to discuss various social and civil issues, sponsoring Safe Zone Training once a semester as well as having fun and funny events such as a LGBT improvisation group.

Welcome to our #1 LGBT resource in the city of Chicago.  The Center on Halsted offers great resources to the LGBT community and  offer fantastic volunteer opportunities for all.

OPALGA is our local LGBT resource.  Located in Oak Park, OPALAGA is a fantastic resource for LGBT youth and young adults. They offer specified nights for LGBT youth every Monday called Spectrum, ALAS is meets every Tuesday and it's for gay men, and RED meets every Wednesday and it's for Lesbians.  If you're a creative member of the LGBT community OPALAGA you can attend an OUTspoken meeting for artistic and extroverted LGBT youth between 18-25.

Howard Brown is an AWESOME organization that offers 100% confidential HIV/AIDS testing. They also do a series of great events throughout the year to help raise awarness and money towards AID/HIV research.
